Origin

The base espresso for the Variations Italia flavoured coffees is known for being incredibly round and smooth. In this Arabica coffee blend, you’re in the good company of the finest South American coffees – really rounded and smooth Brazilian Bourbon Arabica beans in harmony with washed Colombian Arabica.

The toasted hazelnut and vanilla flavours round out this blend even more – you’ll taste a nutty spice and bittersweet caramel flavour coming through the roasted coffee aromas.

"Split roast, the Brazilian coffee is lightly roasted to keep it smooth and with all its malted cereal notes intact, while the majority of the Colombian coffee beans get a short roast to release all their finer aromatics. A fine grind adds a glimmer of intensity to this harmonious coffee."

  • First tried as an espresso. Heavy toasted almonds, cereal notes and a touch of berry sweetness. Made a double espresso shot cappuccino using 1/3 egg nog and 2/3 whole milk. Delicious.

  • I’ve had all three with milk and absolutely agree with your thoughts on them as ristretto shots. I find that with milk, Torta di Nocciole loses almost all of that lovely hazelnut flavour and becomes a very very mild version of itself.

  • I also grabbed another sleeve of the Torta Di Nocciole. For someone who doesn’t really love hazelnut flavors, I reach for this a lot. It’s so good. I think cause it does taste more nutty and less like fake hazelnut flavor.

    40 ml · 1.4 fl oz + 20 ml milk

    Add 6 squares of dark chocolate, 60ml of single cream and 20ml of semi-skimmed milk to the Nespresso Barista jug and start the Hot Chocolate recipe. Pour equally into two Lungo glasses. Brew one capsule of Torta di Nocciole Variations over each coffee. Pour the remaining 100ml of cream into the jug and start the Espresso Con Panna recipe. Spoon the whipped cream on top and garnish with crushed hazelnuts and cocoa powder.
