How to read these prices

This page explains how prices are shown on CoffeeCapsule.

The comparable unit is one capsule

Stores sell sleeves, assortments and bundles in different quantities. We divide the published price by the number of coffee capsules it covers so unlike pack sizes can be compared.

Multi-sleeve packs are real products, but they are excluded from headline rankings: a bulk assortment is not a like-for-like substitute for one sleeve.

When a set also contains an accessory, we show only the whole-set price. Dividing it by the capsule count would wrongly charge part of the accessory to every coffee.

Currency conversion

For each observation we use the latest reference rate published on or before that date. ECB is the primary source for currencies it covers; a documented current-rate fallback covers active currencies ECB does not publish. A later rate is never applied to an older price. Where a market’s official rate is not the rate a payment actually settles at, the transacting rate is used instead: Argentina is converted at the financial (MEP) dollar.

Tax is not identical in every market

Prices in Canada / United States exclude sales tax added at checkout. Most other tracked markets publish VAT-inclusive prices, so the tax-exclusive figures understate the final amount a buyer pays.

Community and official ratings

Official store ratings and our evidence-backed community summaries are displayed separately and never averaged together. A community score requires at least three independent contributions; low-evidence results are labelled and excluded from rating structured data.

Common questions

Are these real prices?

Yes. Every figure is a published retail price in its own market. Nothing is estimated and no market inherits another market’s price.

How are different currencies compared?

Each price uses the latest reference rate available on or before its observation date: ECB where available and the documented fallback provider otherwise. A future rate is never applied to an older price.

Why compare per capsule rather than per pack?

Pack sizes differ. Dividing by the number of coffee capsules is the only honest way to compare sleeves; sets containing accessories are excluded from this calculation.
