Best Nespresso capsules, by community rating
68 capsules rated from published opinion, best first. Flat White Over Ice leads at 4.9 out of 5.
Each score is the mean of opinions read in full from public sources, counted once per author. A capsule appears only once at least five independent authors have been read, so a capsule missing from this list is one we have not gathered enough evidence about — not one that scored badly. Every excerpt links to where it was published.

Flat White Over Ice
Flat White Over Ice is most convincing as a cold milk-based drink with ice and sometimes syrup. It is better suited to that style than to a hot black cup.
Source (opens in a new tab)I’m on my last sleeves of Long Black over Ice and Flat White over ice. They were some of my favs. I tried to preserve them as long as I could. With Summer coming I’m going to finish my stash.
Source (opens in a new tab)e. I tried it though with sparkling water and yeah, it was disgusting lol. I ended up ordering 200+ more caps of flat white which I drink every day, that one sleeve of long black is still sitting…

Ispirazione Napoli
Ispirazione Napoli stays pronounced through plenty of milk and works well hot, over ice or in a latte. Some people find it heavy, blunt and sharply bitter rather than complex.
Source (opens in a new tab)Nothing else comes close, just saw it is OOS at the moment 😭
Source (opens in a new tab)Yeah, one of my go-tos as well, alongside Ristretto. Napoli is better with milk but not complex enough for me on its own.

Ristretto
Ristretto is broadly praised as a strong, chocolatey and balanced Original espresso that many people keep among their favourites or use for milk drinks and iced lattes.
Source (opens in a new tab)My go-to are the 11s (Ristretto). Balanced for both warm and cold coffee.
Source (opens in a new tab)Prefer the stronger Kazaar, Ristretto and Dharkan.

Dharkan
Some people find it too strong or prefer other coffees.
Source (opens in a new tab)Prefer the stronger Kazaar, Ristretto and Dharkan.
Source (opens in a new tab)Was Dharkan, have begrudgingly switched over to Roma.

Freddo Intenso
Freddo Intenso is especially good for iced drinks, with a rich, dark and strong coffee character that can remain fruity and intense over ice. A large iced latte may mute the coffee flavour.
Source (opens in a new tab)Freddo Intenso ( 2 ice cubes + around 40 ml water and it s really good )
Source (opens in a new tab)I warm up the machine, brew two shots of freddo intenso, use 5 oz of whole milk (same I order), add 3 pumps of the same syrup brand (Monin) ... I’m finding I don’t taste the coffee flavor much…

Torta Di Nocciole
Torta Di Nocciole is often described as a smooth, hazelnut-forward capsule that works especially well in lattes and other milk drinks. Some people find that milk mutes the hazelnut character, while others praise its nutty, less artificial profile and dessert-like pairings.
Source (opens in a new tab)Sample 2 was Torta di Nocciole, with subtle Hazelnut and even more subtle Vanilla flavors.
Source (opens in a new tab)I still compare any (flavoured) coffee to the Torta di Nocciole flavour and none is even similar to it ??

Freddo Delicato
Freddo Delicato is a bright, sweet and punchy Original Line capsule made for iced drinks. Drinkers often praise it over ice, where its intensity and balance hold up well; served hot, it can seem merely acceptable. It suits iced coffee and milk-based cold drinks more than a conventional hot cup.
Source (opens in a new tab)Yes it gets watery, but for some amazing reason it doesn't affect the taste.
Source (opens in a new tab)I love them soooo so much. Big fan of the sweet, bright, and punchy taste.

Miami Espresso
Miami Espresso is widely liked for smoky and tobacco notes, dark-chocolate hints and a rich crema; many people call it a favourite or a permanent staple. It is also used successfully in iced drinks, lattes, macchiatos and cortados, although Some drinkers find it too light or watery.
Source (opens in a new tab)I have been using it almost daily, I only have tried two flavors of espresso pods the Miami espresso and Unforgettable espresso. They both taste and look watered down?
Source (opens in a new tab)Very intense. Certainly reminds me of Cafecito de Cuba. This is probably my favorite permanent capsule they've added in years.

Volluto Decaffeinato
Volluto Decaffeinato is a light, smooth Original Line espresso with sweet biscuit, cereal, fruity-floral and peach-like notes. Its texture stays pleasant without feeling diluted; it works in milk drinks and can also be pulled as a Lungo, although the longer extraction changes the balance.
Source (opens in a new tab)This decaffeinated version was able to preserve Volluto’s subtle flavors and while it doesn’t taste as strong, its texture is consistent enough to not feel diluted.
Source (opens in a new tab)The Volluto Decaffeinato has ... an excellent fruity/flowery aroma with peach like taste. Definitely an excellent coffee.

Arpeggio Decaffeinato
Arpeggio Decaffeinato is a rich, bold Original Line decaf with a smooth, substantial character. Drinkers repeatedly choose it as an everyday favourite and use it in dessert-style drinks such as espresso con panna; its dark chocolate profile can feel intense or bitter when served black.
Source (opens in a new tab)My current favorites are Arpeggio decaf, Scuro, the iced intenso and envivio lungo.
Source (opens in a new tab)I found deep chocolate notes, but the cup was intense and fairly bitter; cream might help.

Arpeggio
Arpeggio is a dependable Original capsule: strong and dark without being harsh, and easy to use with milk. A mug often benefits from two capsules.
Source (opens in a new tab)Arpeggio is one of my favourites. I also love Napoli and Stockholm.
Source (opens in a new tab)I'd suggest arpeggios, which is known for its creaminess.

Paris Espresso
Paris is broadly well liked as a versatile Original espresso. People call it a favourite, a go-to or a daily coffee and describe it as balanced, smooth or dark enough without excessive bitterness. Some mention citrus, fruit or cereal notes and use it black, with foam or milk, in short lattes, iced drinks or an…
Source (opens in a new tab)Every now and then I also enjoy Paris, Arpeggio or Venezia. Perfectly fine as a black espresso without any need to add anything.
Source (opens in a new tab)Edit to add - my other favorites are Napoli, Roma, and Paris

Stockholm Lungo
The main limitation is extraction and dilution: some find it weak or watery when extended to a large lungo or combined with substantial milk, while a careful shorter extraction can preserve more body and smoothness.
Source (opens in a new tab)is definitely a lower intensity beverage, or iced coffee recipe, not an iced latte. But it was so good! The Stockholm capsule goes well with Irish Cream and isn't completely washed out with ice/ cr
Source (opens in a new tab)Stockholm lungo, with a dash of Silk oat sweet cream creamer is my preferred daily cup.

Indonesia
Indonesia is generally liked for a distinctive, low-acidity profile. People mention tobacco and woody notes and often describe it as rich, smooth or a favourite; several use it with milk, in a flat white or as a lungo. Some people find the profile difficult to enjoy or simply not to their taste.
Source (opens in a new tab)Indonesia is back in stock and is much better IMO
Source (opens in a new tab)I LOVED the tobacco notes in the flavor, even brewed as a Lungo.

Buenos Aires Lungo
Buenos Aires Lungo is generally liked for buttery, toasted or popcorn-like sweetness, especially when extracted shorter or combined with milk and sugar. Some people call it a favorite or fantastic, while some find the full 110 ml brew less pleasant and prefer a shorter extraction.
Source (opens in a new tab)I never drink lungo coffees but I wanted to try something new and it was good enough for me
Source (opens in a new tab)I like it! I have yet to experience that popcorn thing ppl mention

Scuro
Original Line Scuro is strongly favored for milk drinks, cappuccinos and macchiatos, with some people calling it a favorite. Some find it roastier than preferred or weaker than the Vertuo double-espresso version.
Source (opens in a new tab)I’m new to the coffee world but I’ve really enjoyed capsules such as Scuro and Vanilla Eclair as they blend well with milk and syrups (I’m a latte/cappuccino person) but still serve as a good and…
Source (opens in a new tab)For Original Line I live Scuro & Cocoa Truffle together.

Arpeggio Extra
Arpeggio Extra is strongly liked as a dark, full Original Line espresso with cocoa notes and light acidity. It is often treated as a favourite, while the difference from regular Arpeggio can be subtle when the two are tasted side by side.
Source (opens in a new tab)Arpeggio and Arpeggio Extra... that’s my choice.
Source (opens in a new tab)My choices are Napoli, Roma, Ristretto and Arpeggio Extra. I usually go for Ristretto Decaffinato for evening decaf. My all time favourite was Dharkan but that is no more, sadly.

Caramel Crème Brûlée
It appears best suited to drinkers who want a sweet flavored capsule or a milk-based preparation.
Source (opens in a new tab)The second day was dedicated to vanilla, and I've just finished with my favorite, the caramel.
Source (opens in a new tab)The caramel crème brûlée (barista collection) is amazing as an espresso.

Coconut Flavour over Ice
This Original Line iced coffee is driven by a clear coconut flavour with a light, relatively subtle coffee base. It can show raw-coconut, woody and cereal notes, and works especially well over ice with milk or a sweetener; some cups instead taste bitter and show little coconut.
Source (opens in a new tab)I just bought the limited edition Coconut over ice pods ... I really don't like the taste. ... No coconut taste and a weird bitterness.
Source (opens in a new tab)Love the coconut flavour over ice as a latte!

Nicaragua
Nicaragua is a smooth Original coffee with little acidity and works with milk, in a latte, or as espresso rather than a long lungo. It can also seem watery, bitter or lacking in character, so the cup is not for everyone.
Source (opens in a new tab)My personal best 3 are: Cosi, Ethopia, Nicaragua.
Source (opens in a new tab)Absolutely love the OL Nicaragua. So smooth
