Best Nespresso capsules, by community rating
146 capsules rated from published opinion, best first. Yemen leads at 3.8 out of 5.
Each score is the mean of opinions read in full from public sources, counted once per author. A capsule appears only once at least five independent authors have been read, so a capsule missing from this list is one we have not gathered enough evidence about — not one that scored badly. Every excerpt links to where it was published.

Yemen
Yemen is generally experienced as a light, fruity and floral Original Line limited edition with a smooth or balanced profile; some people enjoy its full-bodied feel despite the light roast and some like it with milk.
Source (opens in a new tab)It’s actually a good blend. Light yet bitter at the same time.
Source (opens in a new tab)I thought the Yemen was hugely dissapointing, really lacked the depth of flavour.

Sweet Vanilla
Sweet Vanilla is often chosen for sweet, flavoured drinks and combinations with milk.
Source (opens in a new tab)Same! I really love vanilla, but their sweet vanilla pods are meh to me, which is annoying since it's a permanent flavor. Oddly enough, limited edition pods with vanilla notes seem to taste better…
Source (opens in a new tab)I would add the bianco dopio!!! That’s a tasty one too, the dolce is my personal favourite though 👌🏼 I also have the same picks (sweet vanilla iced leggero). I exclusively make iced drinks with my…

Liminha Over Ice
Liminha Over Ice is a distinctive citrus-and-mint Original Line capsule that works black or in iced recipes with seltzer, tonic, lemonade, milk or syrup. Its recipe sensitivity is central to the experience: the same lime and mint character can taste refreshing and unique or artificial and medicinal.
Source (opens in a new tab)I wish I had seen this first. Tried it this morning and it’s got this awful licorice aftertaste with milk. Soda water sounds like it would be SIGNIFICANTLY better.
Source (opens in a new tab)Lime and mint, love it! Thanks for the info!

Melozio
The default Vertuo coffee, and treated as such: many people call it their everyday cup and praise it as smooth and unchallenging. It also draws the most "just fine" verdicts of any capsule here — Some drinkers describe it as watered down, too light, or simply unremarkable next to the rest of the range.
Source (opens in a new tab)My go to is Melozio. My husband prefers Stormio.
Source (opens in a new tab)Melozio is definitely a morning favorite

Ice Forte
Ice Forte is a full mug designed to be poured over ice, with a darker and more peppery character than its paired capsule. It can also work hot, although its profile is strongest when served cold.
Source (opens in a new tab)Have you tried Ice Forte extracted in expert mode? I’m in love with that one. Tried it at a boutique, done right. I was not an iced coffee guy until then.
Source (opens in a new tab)I actually loved them and am sad there are out of stock!

Nocciola
Nocciola is a bold, strongly hazelnut-forward Original Line flavoured capsule. Its rich, sometimes sweet or Nutella-like aroma can make it a favourite, but the flavour may overpower the coffee or feel cloying, artificial or chemical.
Source (opens in a new tab)Agreed, I enjoy the Nocciola, but the PH is more light and creamy
Source (opens in a new tab)most days I fall back on a simple Nocciola pod from the OG line

Caramello
Original Line Caramello is mostly liked as a mild, toasted-sugar and caramel capsule for lattes, lungos and milk recipes. Some people call it a favorite, but others find it weak, artificial or sickly sweet, especially compared with earlier Caramelito or Crème Brûlée versions.
Source (opens in a new tab)Its not intense but its delicious. Double shot Caramello latte hits the spot!
Source (opens in a new tab)for iced lattes my “recipe” is I fill ice cubes in the 20oz travel mug and brew 1 OL caramello pod on lungo and 1 OL vanilla on regular directly into the mug.

Alto Dolce
Alto XL Dolce is a large 14-ounce Vertuo capsule with a light, mild profile and a sharply divided reception. Some drinkers find it watery, flavorless or undrinkable, especially compared with Alto Intenso, while others call it a favorite, go-to or ideal coffee for a large thermos.
Source (opens in a new tab)I have simple tastes - Alto Dolce is my "go-to" - but when trying to do a top up order here in Australia, It tells me a) it is out of
Source (opens in a new tab)So far I’ve only tried the Stormio and the Alto Dolce from the sampler kit. I like both but the dolce is definitely one I want more of. I’ve also Starbucks ones of Pikes Place which is just a staple…

White Chocolate & Strawberry
White Chocolate & Strawberry is highly preparation-sensitive. As a hot black coffee it can seem lacklustre, artificial or unable to show its advertised flavours, while espresso mode, milk, white-chocolate sauce or a cold iced preparation can make it much more appealing. The strawberry note is more convincing with…
Source (opens in a new tab)Verdict: it does give a sweet hint of strawberry so I prefer it with milk. Would I buy another sleeve? Hhhmmm… hard to say, but I might try and add it to my milkshake and see.
Source (opens in a new tab)i didn’t like this hot, but it is very nice iced! maybe try that

Apple Crumble
The capsule seems best suited to drinkers who want a restrained seasonal flavor rather than a strong dessert-like cup.
Source (opens in a new tab)(I tend to have a short coffee with lots of milk (I like my lattes)) Apple Crumble has got a definite apple taste but with a strong cinnamon kick to it.
Source (opens in a new tab)s person that apple crumble sounded horrible. She told me it was the staff favourite and made me try one......it was great! Mild enough to not have an overly apple flavour, but still there. Have to…

Colombia
Colombia receives a mixed but slightly favorable reception among Vertuo drinkers. The capsule is therefore a reasonable everyday option for people who enjoy a brighter profile, but not a safe universal recommendation.
Source (opens in a new tab)Update: I tried the Colombia coffee as I had the box of 12 different coffee.
Source (opens in a new tab)I just bought a Vertuo Plus Deluxe and my favorite pod in the sampler was the Colombia. Are there any other flavors that you all think I might like based on that? I need to use up my $10 coupon soon!

La Cumplida Refinada
La Cumplida Refinada has a distinctive fermented-fruit profile with wild-fruit and apricot-like nuances. Some drinkers find it smooth and excellent, including with milk, while others dislike it with milk or find the fruit character unpleasant. It is most likely to suit people who enjoy unusual, fruit-forward espresso.
Source (opens in a new tab)I made a macchiato with a little steamed milk, took one sip and threw it out - I thought my milk had gone off. I'm definitely not doing that again! Straight black espresso until it's gone; not a…
Source (opens in a new tab)I've just had my first latte with it (2 shots with oatly barista) and it's incredible, I was a bit apprehensive too but its so good.

Rio de Janeiro Espresso
Rio de Janeiro Espresso is a polarizing Original Line espresso with woody aromatic character, subtle acidity and low bitterness. The profile can feel delicious and distinctive to some, but others find it weird, ashy or bitter.
Source (opens in a new tab)So disappointed in this one. I also hated the cafenzo do Brazil from a couple years ago, so hearing they are the same
Source (opens in a new tab)Woody notes, especially on the espresso brew

Starbucks® Espresso Roast
Starbucks Espresso Roast for Vertuo gets a mixed but generally positive reaction. Some drinkers value its intense coffee character and use it in milky or iced drinks, while others find the cup watery after milk and sugar. It suits people who want a forceful coffee base rather than a delicate profile.
Source (opens in a new tab)The best single pod solution I have found is Starbucks Espresso Roast, very intense but normal levels of caffeine.
Source (opens in a new tab)I enjoy Starbucks a lot but Scuro is my daily pod at home.

Venezia
Venezia is divisive: some people call it mellow, easy to enjoy, a staple or a favourite, and some like it with cream or as a black espresso. Others find it weak, too bitter or diluted as a lungo, or simply not to their taste.
Source (opens in a new tab)It and Roma have been my favorite so far.
Source (opens in a new tab)Every now and then I also enjoy Paris, Arpeggio or Venezia.

Bianco Forte
The split follows how it is served almost exactly — people who add a good deal of milk tend to like it, people who drink it black tend not to, and one of its strongest defenders drinks it black and says so as if it were a confession.
Source (opens in a new tab)I loved the sample of Bianca Forte and I was wondering if anybody knew when/if it would be abc, in stock
Source (opens in a new tab)Bianco Forte is my all time favorite and don’t understand how more people don’t like it! Maybe it’s because I drink it black.

Capriccio
Capriccio is a quiet mid-intensity capsule with a plain, cereal-forward everyday character. That simplicity can feel comforting or dull depending on taste.
Source (opens in a new tab)Capriccio actually - big fan of India as well ... now I need to place an order of India!
Source (opens in a new tab)I like cereal and toasty notes and it has those. ... I’d say Peru organic and Capriccio are in my top faves.

Stormio Go
Stormio Go is a full-bodied black Vertuo coffee with a loyal following and a noticeable caffeine-focused appeal. Some people find it a dependable favourite, while others dislike the taste or notice little difference from regular Stormio; it is therefore a distinctly personal choice.
Source (opens in a new tab)If you’re looking for more of a kick I would try to melozio boost or the stormio boost. I like both of these black and they have extra caffeine
Source (opens in a new tab)I’m grateful for the option and not being stuck with Stormio Boost. That stuff’s disgusting.

Sweet Vanilla Decaffeinato
Sweet Vanilla Decaffeinato divides opinion more than its name suggests: some find it comforting, enjoyable with creamer, and a good evening decaf, while others find the vanilla weak or the cup unpleasant. The flavour stays close to the regular Sweet Vanilla profile, so its appeal depends on whether that profile suits…
Source (opens in a new tab)Now I drink Sweet Vanilla Decaffeinato every night and look forward to it.
Source (opens in a new tab)I enjoy it lol and the caffeinated version

Blend No. 1
Blend No. 1 is a limited Vertuo collaboration with a light, delicate and often fruity or Ethiopian-style profile. It can show plum, bright fruit and a filter-coffee character, although some cups taste watery, sharply acidic, wine-like, vegetal or simply unlike coffee. Hot and cold preparations can differ noticeably…
Source (opens in a new tab)This is one of my faves, however I drink it as a double espresso (expert mode). I especially love the uganda coffees a
Source (opens in a new tab)I love the taste, but it smells funny. Especially after brewing.
